Obituary

GREEN CREEK – Phillip E. Fischer of Green Creek passed away, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Donald and Martha Jean Moore Fischer. Mr. Fischer recently retired from teaching Auto Body Repair at Isothermal Community College, and in the past served as chairman of the Polk County School Board for several years in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. He always enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. He was the sweetest man in the world with a beautiful smile, dedicated to his family and was of the Christian faith.

Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Wanda McEntire Fischer; two daughters, Celeste Eaton (Eric) of Columbus and Reagan Bowman (Gabe) of Mill Spring; one grandson, Grant Eaton; two sisters, Pam Champion of Chattanooga, TN and Lujuanna Clayton of Forest City. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
