Obituary

TRYON -- On Saturday, March 11, Rolland Russell Rasmussen, beloved husband and father, passed away at age ninety-one.

Born to Vivian and Otto Rasmussen, Rolland graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

Rolland is survived by the love of his life, Janice.  They were married for over 67 years.  He is also survived by his three children, Julie (St. Paul, MN), Jeff (Nashville, TN) and Jim (spouse Cindy, Hendersonville, NC).  Rolland’s sister, Darlene, lives in Port Angeles, WA.  Rolland is pre-deceased by his brother, Roger.

Rolland was an amazing provider, reliable and inventive.  He was intelligent, logical, humble and had a dry sense of humor.  Very much a private individual, he loved to garden as well as spend time fishing.  He travelled much of the world during his four years in the Navy aboard the USS Winston.  Most importantly, he was a strong, quiet Christian who exemplified walking the Christian walk.  His surviving family is at peace knowing Rolland is now with our Lord.

His family has chosen to conduct a private service with immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Les Feldick Ministries (lesfeldick.com or lesfeldick.org).
