COLUMBUS – Michael Scott Cochran, 57, of Columbus, passed away, Sunday evening, August 22, 2021, at Spartanburg Medical Center.
A native of Polk County, he was the son of Louise Metcalf Cochran of Columbus and the late James Cochran. Mike was a 1981 graduate of Polk Central High School and went on to join the U.S. Navy serving 2 tours of duty. After his service to his country, he worked in several government jobs as a computer specialist. Mike enjoyed reading and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Killebrew Cochran who passed in 2014.
Surviving in addition to his mother is one brother, Frankie Cochran of Columbus; four sisters, Patricia Adcock (Rodney) of Columbus, Tami Martin of Tryon, Kelli Jackson (Emmanuel) of Dalton, GA, and Amanda Dyer (Kenny) of Landrum; his K9 soul mate, Scrooge; seven nieces and nephews, Rodney Adcock, Alyssa Jackson, James Jackson, Isaiah Jackson, Zachary Dyer, Madison Dyer and Ophelia Jackson.
A private family service will be held.
