COLUMBUS – Leah Nicole Justice, 49, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, January 12, 2023 at her home.
Born in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of Edward D. Justice and Vicky Covil Justice. Leah graduated Tryon High School 1992 where she was salutatorian and homecoming queen. After high school she attended Clemson University where she was a member of the water-skiing team and earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism. Leah loved spending time at the lake, the beach and was a great cook. She was passionate about her job as a local reporter for the Tryon Daily Bulletin where for the past 20 plus years she dedicated her time reporting and covering local stories about the Polk County Community. Leah loved her family, friends, community but above all she loved her son Luke.
Surviving in addition to her parents is one son, Luke Miller of Columbus; one brother, Brandon Justice (Julie) of Tryon; one sister, Missy Fincher (Trey) of Tryon; two step-sons, Gatlin Miller of Greenville and Trey Miller of Hendersonville; two nieces, Alyssa Wullimann (Phil) and Molly Justice; two nephews, TJ Fincher and Owen Justice; one great-nephew, Elias Wullimann; one step-granddaughter, Emmi Miller; maternal grandmother, Martha “Othermama” Covil. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Tryon.
A celebration of Leah’s life will follow at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the church with Dr. Jeff Harris officiating.
