Columbus, NC—John Clinton Rosborough, 85, of Columbus, NC went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 3, 2023 at the home of his daughter.
John was born in Cumberland County, NC to the late John Wilson Rosborough and Rosie Belle Wines Rosborough. He was a graduate of Limestone College and worked for the South Carolina Rehabilitation Center as a job counselor until his retirement. John also taught New Testament Survey at Casey Creek Bible Institute for 22 years. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Boiling Springs, SC. John always enjoyed the simple things about life, his hobbies included gardening, reading, bird watching and his favorite hobby was playing chess.
John was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Pettit Rosborough and a brother, Gene Rosborough.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan David and Galina Rosborough of Inman, SC and Christopher Michael and Pamela Rosborough of Inman, SC; two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah Rosborough Dallas of Inman, SC and Penelope and Russel Grady of Chesnee, SC; a sister, Jeanette “Sissy” Rosborough Hough of Auburn, ME; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC officiated by Reverend Tony Pettit and Dr. Charles Kenya.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
