Columbus, NC--Joan R. Scoggins (Skipper) moved into Heaven on June 11th, 2022 at Upstate Hospice House in Landrum S.C.
Mrs. Scoggins was a resident of Columbus N.C. where she lived until her recent illness. Many people knew her as an outgoing person and someone that was always very outspoken. She will be remembered as a person of great determination and self will by those that knew her best. She was a member of Columbus Presbyterian Church where many knew her well.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Silver of Rutherfordton NC and two sons Larry Skipper of Wilkesboro NC, and Barry Skipper of Surf Side Beach SC. Four grandchildren, Angie Zimmern of Charlotte NC, Nicholas Skipper of Wilkesboro NC, Baty Hollar of Granite Falls NC, and Morgan Skipper of Lincolnton NC. Five great grandchildren, Abigail and Huntley Zimmern of Charlotte NC, Mason and Liam Hollar of Granite Falls NC, and Isaac Brown of Lincolnton NC.
Mrs. Scoggins has requested that there be no public ceremony for her passing. Her family is planning a private celebration of life with the date to be determined.
