Obituary
Columbus, NC—Cecil Dean Pace, 60, of Columbus, NC passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 2, 2022.
Dean was the son of the late Cecil Robert and Elma Shehan Pace. He was employed the Polk County School System maintenance department from 1985 to 2011, retiring as the director of maintenance. Dean loved fishing, motorcycles and traveling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Michael Pace.
Surviving is his caregiver and partner, Elaine Kirkland; brother, Jesse Stephen Pace; two nephews, Benjamin Michael Pace (Erin) and Matthew Robert Pace; one niece, Yancy Leah Pace (Quinton Price); three great nephews and one on the way.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 in the McFarland Funeral Capel in Tryon, NC with Reverend Jimmy Camp officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
