GREEN CREEK – Cecil Ernest Thompson of Green Creek passed away, Sunday evening, February 23, 2020 at his home following a sudden illness.
Born and raised in Polk County, he was the son of the late Ernest Curtis Thompson and Addie Lee Painter Thompson. Cecil enjoyed working and spent many years running his own landscaping business. He enjoyed spending his time with his grandchildren which he loved dearly and his dog Penny. Cecil was a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Thompson.
Surviving is his wife of 25 years, Nancy Church Thompson; one sister, Doris Blackwell; one stepdaughter, Kimberly Jones (Kenneth) of Greer; three grandchildren, Dakota Jones, Zack Jones and Mattie Jones.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Silver Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Rob Hefner officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
