Bertha Louise (Whiteside) Huff
Obituary
GREEN CREEK – Bertha Louise Whiteside Huff, 90, of Green Creek, passed away, Saturday morning, May 6, 2023 at her home.
A native of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Broadus Winston Whiteside and Beulah Leona Searcy Whiteside. Miss Huff was a member of Eden Wesleyan Church in Fingerville. She was an avid gardener and took a lot of pride in growing strawberries.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Ricky Dean Huff and Barbara Louise; one brother, Joe Whiteside.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Tillison of Spindale, Rebecca Greenway (Joseph) of Green Creek and Carolyn Harris (Ricky) of Green Creek; one son, Jerry Huff of Rutherfordton; one brother, Wayne Hicks (Sharon) of Lake Lure; two sisters, Leona Lancaster of Sunny View and Ann Conley of Lenoir; one sister-in-law, Hazel Whiteside of Sunny View. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 12, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Rock Springs Baptist Church, Rutherfordton (Polk County).
A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Friday in the church.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
