Obituary
HENDERSONVILLE –
Zonnie Mai Staalman, infant daughter of Julia Rhodes Staalman and Jesse Staalman, returned to the arms of Jesus Tuesday morning, April 23, 2024, at 9:18 a.m. due to unknown reasons.
Zonne weighed 6 lb. 8 oz. and 20 inches and was twice the birth weight of her sister, Espen. Zonne Mai means Sun-like dance. Her Mom says when she found out she was pregnant, she asked God for a verse over her. He gave her Psalm 23.
Zonne was preceded in death by a sister, Aleena Kate Staalman.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Espen Staalman; maternal grandmother, Belinda (Kit) Rhodes of Michigan; paternal grandparents, Cornelius and Trudy Staalman of The Netherlands; maternal great-grandmothers, Sandra Rogers and Doris Rhodes; uncles, David Staalman, Joshua Staalman, Joshua Rhodes and Caleb Rhodes; her Gigi, Jennifer Thelen; aunts, Madyson Thelen and Emma Thelen; God parents, Karl and Susie Gessler. Also surviving is her loving and supportive church family.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the home of Karl and Susie Gessler, Mills River, North Carolina.
