-Woodrow Stevenson "Steve" Henderson, 74, went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2018.Steve was born on April 2, 1943 to the late Woodrow and Anna Belle Ponder Henderson of Tryon, NC. He graduated from Polk Central High School in 1961 and served his country in the Army. He worked about 35 years in textiles at Jackson Mills in Wellford S.C. Steve was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed HAM radio (his call sign was WB4PRE) and he also enjoyed playing the guitar.Steve is survived by his wife of 35 years, Karen Weddle Henderson, and the family cat, Thor. He also leaves behind several cousins and an aunt, Hazel Ponder of Hendersonville, NC.Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.A funeral will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.Burial will follow the in Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, SC.His initials were W.S.H. - "World's Sweetest Husband".
