Winifred Volpe, 95, of Tryon, passed away, Friday morning, October 28, 2022 at her home.She was the wife of the late James Volpe who passed away in 2001. Mrs. Volpe was very involved in many volunteer organizations in Polk County after moving here in 1983 coming from Houston, Texas. She was a real estate broker for many years.Surviving are four sons, Michael Robin Volpe of Albany, New York, James Scott Volpe of Virginia Beach, Virginia, William Anthony Volpe of Tryon and John Charles Volpe of Knoxville, Tennessee; two daughters, Sharon Lucille Wozniak of Arizona and Atha Dawn Volpe of Tryon. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.A private service for family and friends will be held at a later date.Memorials may be made to Thermal Belt Outreach, Post Office Box 834, Columbus, North Carolina 28722.
