William Zach Sain, of Moore, South Carolina, passed away on December 7, 2025, at the Spartanburg Medical Center. Born on May 2, 1941, in Polk County, North Carolina.
William enjoyed a successful career as a retail store manager and served as a golf and tennis professional at several country clubs, where he shared his passion for sports with many. His commitment to excellence was evident in every role he undertook, whether managing retail operations or coaching aspiring athletes on the green and court.
Devout in his belief, William was a proud member of the Baptist faith, which provided him with strength and guidance throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Angela Sain Conner and Tonya Ann Sain; his sister, Cordelia Searcy; his sister, Edna Lewis; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Pace Sain, and his father, William Zach Sain, and mother, Lettie Dora Thompson Sain; his brothers: Roy Newton Sain, James Arthur Sain, George Leonard Sain, and Adolphus Sain, as well as his sisters: Mattie Allgood, Mary Laughter, Minnie Conner, and Sarah Davis.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.
