Mill Spring, NC - William Ray "Cooter" Russell, 60, of Hwy. l08, Mill Spring, NC died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.Born in Rutherford County, NC, he was the son of the late Hubert and Lillie Summers Russell. He worked for APAC Paving for 10 years and was a member of Byars Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC.Surviving are his wife, Wanda Shehan Russell; two sons, Ronnie Russell of Columbus, NC and Jacob Russell of Mill Spring, NC; a daughter, Jasmine Russell of Mill Spring, NC; a brother, Jerry Russell of Pea Ridge, NC and a sister, Mary Atkins of Inman, SC. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Tonya and Kimberly Russell.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Byars Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC with Rev. Charles Arledge officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 Thursday night in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC.The family will be at the home of a sister-in-law, Pamela Tessnear, 2616 Pea Ridge Road, Mill Spring, NC, 28756.Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association, 222 S.
