WILLIAM L. JOHNSONTRYON, NC - William L. Johnson, 67, of Tryon, NC died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in Pardee Hospital, Hendersonville, NC. Born in Clinton, Iowa, he was the son of the late Burdette and Wilma Law Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a graduate of the University of Illinois and received his J.D. from the University of Florida. He was a partner with Holland and Knight Law Firm in St. Petersburg, FL. He was a past member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, Lakewood Country Club and the Suncoasters. He was a member of N.E. Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg, FL. Mr. Johnson moved to Tryon, NC in 1997 and opened the firm of William L. Johnson, P.A. He was a member of the Tryon Rotary Club, served on the Foundation Board of St. Luke's Hospital and the Board of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. He was a member of both the North Carolina and Florida Bar Associations and the American Bar Association.Surviving include his wife, Barbara B. Johnson; one daughter, Lauren Rice Higgins of Rochester Hills, MI and one son, William Bart Johnson of Cary, NC. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Erin Rice, Emily and Forrest Higgins.Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 29, 2006 in the Tryon Presbyterian Church, Tryon, NC with Dr. David R.
