LYMAN, SC - William Joseph Crane, 91, of Lyman, SC passed away, Saturday morning, September 8, 2012 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC following a sudden illness.Born in Birmingham, AL, he was the son of the late Harry A. and Elizabeth L. Clayton Crane and husband of the late Carmelina B. Crane who died in 2009. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy having served in WWII and Korea. Mr. Crane was a member of the St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Greenville, NC.Surviving are two grandsons, Christopher Cashwell of Greer, SC and Casey Cashwell of Lyman, SC; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Kinleigh Cashwell.A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2012 in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC with Father John Eckert officiating.Military rites will be by the Polk County Memorial Burial Squad.
