Aiken, SC- William Earl Barnette, 93, formerly of Green Creek, NC, died December 7, 2007 at Regency Lutheran Home, Aiken, SC. Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late William and Edna Prince Barnette. He was a Mason and a WWII veteran. Mr. Barnette was a member of The Sons of the American Revolution and a member and past deacon at Green Creek First Baptist Church. He is survived by a son; William Haynes Barnette and wife Phyllis of Aiken, SC; one brother, Charley Wayne Barnette of Green Creek, NC; three sisters, Minnie Vernelle McDowell of Green Creek, NC, Lucille Swain of Inman, SC, and Mary Ellen Spangler of Spindale, NC, three grandchildren, Laura Elaine Jackson of Columbia, SC, Keri Lynn Boukurtize of Chattanooga, TN, and Christopher Scott Barnette of Charleston, SC. Also surviving is two great grandchildren. Mr. Barnette was preceded in death by a four sisters, Louise Foster, Doris Peeler, Jessie McEntire, Mayo Condrey and one brother, George Barnette Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 10, 2007 at 3:00 P.M., in Green Creek First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 9, 2007 from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. in McFarland Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Green Creek First Baptist Church Cemetery.
