Wiley Lunsford Jr., 87, of Tryon, NC passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, NC.Wiley was born in Durham, NC to the late Annie and Wiley Lunsford Sr.  After high school, Wiley served in the US Army in Germany for two years.  Upon returning from service, Wiley obtained his bachelor's degree in political science from The City University of New York.  During his career, he owned two businesses and later retired as a mortgage banker.  Wiley worked hard to support his family and was a loving and devoted father.  He enjoyed smooth jazz music, golf and baseball.  Wiley was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Tryon, NC.  Wiley was an all-around kind of guy that enjoyed life and helping others.Survivors include his wife, Muriel Lunsford; and five children, Pamela Alexander, Christopher Lunsford, Tab Lunsford, Michelle Mayo and Crystal Lunsford Jno Baptiste.A memorial service will held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Tryon, NC with Father Robert Ard officiating.
