Wilbert Neil Norris, 80, of Mill Spring, passed away, Friday morning, January 7, 2022 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.Born in Charleston, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Wilbert O. Norris and Lola Irene Griffin Norris and husband of the late Mary Thompson Norris who passed away in 2012. Mr. Norris drove a Semi-Truck for over 50 years. After retirement, he enjoyed telling trucker stories and gardening.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Wilbert Neil Norris, Jr.Surviving are three daughters, Pam Nuckolls (Joe) of Hendersonville, Tammy Crosby (Eddie) of Hendersonville and Kandy Waters (Robbie) of Rutherfordton; daughter-in-law, Janie Norris of Mill Spring; seven grandchildren, Justin Sherman, Ryan Taylor, Trey Taylor (U.S. Navy), Kyler (Ky-Boy) Buckner, Amanda Carden, Sherry Cotton and Heather Sanders; eight great-grandchildren, Waylon Carden, Memphis Carden, Abigail Sherman, Sarah Sherman, Forrest Taylor, Ashlynn McCoy, Shayna Landreth and Mia Sullivan; one sister, Kena Norris Becka of Houston, Texas.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 10, 2022 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral chapel.Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
