Virginia Sue Greene Hilson, 81, of Greer, passed away, Wednesday afternoon, August 21, 2024, at her home.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Roy B. Greene, Sr. and Mary Katherine Bemisderfer Greene. She grew up in Green Creek and was a graduate of Tryon High School. After high school, she went on to become a registered nurse, having worked at several hospitals, nursing facilities and SC DHEC until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy B. Greene, Jr and Samuel Ira Greene; one sister, Kay Perales.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Hilson (Jennifer) of Greer and Thomas Hilson of Landrum; one sister-in-law, Mickey Behrends-Greene; nieces and nephews, Bill Greene, Brian Greene, Jennifer Avitabile, Susan Farace and Jackie Cares.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2024, in Green Creek First Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Todd Johnson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wren Hospice, 955 West Wade Hampton Blvd., Suite 3A, Greer, South Carolina 29650 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 123 West Antrim Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29607.
