COLUMBUS, NC -- Virginia Woodson Chalmers, 90, died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Tryon Estates.Born in Birmingham, AL, she was the daughter of the late. Paul Lee and Virginia Meriwether Woodson; granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Louis Woodson and Mr. and Mrs. Murdoch Meriwether; widow of Arthur A. Chalmers who died in 2009. She was a graduate of Stratford College, Danville VA, 1942. She and Arthur lived in Schenectady and Lake George, NY before moving to Tryon, NC in 1992. Surviving are: son, Harvey Chalmers (Virginia) of Rockville, MD; daughter, Virginia Lee Chalmers of Bluffton, SC; sister, Elizabeth Abele of Birmingham, AL; and two grandchildren.Memorials may be made to The Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross, P.O.
