Mill Spring, NC- Viola "Vidy" Sain Ruff, 81, of Hwy. #9, Mill Spring, NC, died October 22, 2008 in Spartanburg Regional Healthcare Center, Spartanburg, SC. Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Henrietta Clark Sain and the widow of Billy Hugh Ruff, who died in 1989. She was the past pianist at Bills Creek Baptist Church and Coopers Gap Baptist Church and was the current pianist at Silver Creek Baptist Church. She is a member of Coopers Gap Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Danny Ruff (Rita) of Mill Spring, NC; two grandsons, Jason Ruff (Rosie) and Josh Ruff both of Mill Spring, NC and one great grandson, R.J. Ruff. Mrs. Ruff is also survived by three special nieces, Janice Sain Cochrane of Mill Spring, NC, Linda Walker of Anderson, SC, and Michelle Whiteside of Rutherfordton, NC. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008 in Coopers Gap Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC with Dr. Chris Osborn and Rev. Warren Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 24, 2008 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. in Coopers Gap Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will be at her home, Hwy. # 9, Mill Spring, NC 28756.
