Columbus, NC—Vicki Lynn Waldrop, 73, of Columbus, NC passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.Vicki was the daughter the late John Cecil and Ruby Bailey Pearson.  During her working career, Vicki worked as a clerk for her family's businesses which included Waldrop's Grocery and S & L.  She loved greeting and getting to know her customers.  A country girl at heart, Vicki loved dirt roads, picnics, her flowers, and working in her yard.  She was a big fan of Peyton Manning, the Tennessee Volunteers and Merle Haggard.  Above all else, she loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a member of Melvin Hill Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Waldrop and a brother, Danny Pearson.Surviving is one daughter, Samantha Phillips (Robert) of Chesnee; one son, David Waldrop (Holly) of Rutherfordton; four grandchildren, Katie Phillips, Madison Hill (Nathan), Victoria Phillips and Robert Waldrop; one great grandchild on the way and one brother, John Pearson.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Melvin Hill Church with Rev. Craig Scruggs officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.A private burial will be held following the service.
