Rutherfordton, NC - Thomas Earle Dixon, 76, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Rutherford Hospital, Rutherfordton, NC.Born in 1938 in Jennings, LA he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Powell Dixon. Mr. Dixon was a sales manager for Pechiney out of Paris, France and was over International Sales during his working life, he retired in 1988 and moved to Polk Co. in 1990. He was currently owner and broker of Shamrock Real Estate of the Carolinas and was a member of the Rutherford Board of Realtors and was a Mason of the Scottish Rite and York Rite. He was a member of Gray's Chapel United Methodist Church and was a Sunday school teacher as well as an avid fox hunter. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Alice Pace Dixon; two daughters, Deborah Diane Dixon of Ill. and Rebecca Tripoli (fiancé, Kevin Perez) of Rutherfordton, NC; as well as one son, Daniel Wade Dixon (wife, Terri Dixon) of Cape Coral, FL. Also surviving are two sisters, Frances R. Dixon of Gastonia, NC; and two grandchildren, Brooke Jordan Tripoli and Daniel Dixon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hamilton Dixon, a sister Laura Lee Jackson and a son, Thomas Earle Dixon, III.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Gray's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. James L. Powell, Phd. officiating.The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Gray's Chapel, just prior to the service.Memorials may be made to Gray's Chapel United Methodist Church, 500 Gray's Chapel Church Rd.
