Conway, SC--With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Thomas "Tom" James Brady, who departed this world on March 31, 2025, at the age of 78, surrounded by his loving family in Landrum, SC. Tom was a devoted husband, a caring father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished friend to many.
Born on May 14, 1946, in Kearney, NJ, to John Francis and Genevieve (Jeane) Brady, Tom lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and dedication to those he loved. He grew up in Clifton, NJ, where he graduated from Clifton High School in 1964, excelling as a multi-sport athlete in football, baseball, and basketball. His passion for sports remained a lifelong joy, both for himself and those he inspired.
Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1972 before settling in New Jersey, where he lived in Butler, Kinnelon, Whippany, and Mendham before eventually making his home in Conway, SC. For 53 years, he shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Beatrice Duinker Brady, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Tom was a devoted father to Shannon Brady Hannon and Thomas "TJ" Brady, offering them unwavering support, wisdom, and his signature sense of humor. He found immense joy in his role as "Poppy" to Reese and Brendan Hannon. He was a beloved brother to Frank Brady, a caring brother-in-law to Margaret "Peg" Brady, and a loving uncle to Erin and Maureen Brady. His kindness and generosity also extended to his son-in-law, Dan Hannon, and daughter-in-law, Jessica Brady, who were blessed to be part of his life.
Tom had a gentle spirit and a wonderful sense of humor that touched the lives of many. Whether through his friendships, his work, or his everyday acts of kindness, he made the world a better place. His legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held in New Jersey at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association, in support of finding a cure for the disease his wife, Beatrice, continues to face.
Though he is no longer with us, Tom will be forever remembered with love and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
