COLUMBUS, NC - Thelma McElrath Grigg, 83, of 10 Fox Meadow Lane, Columbus, NC, died Thursday, March 15, 2007 in Autumn Care Nursing Center in Saluda, NC.Born in Spartanburg County, SC June 13, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Lewis D. and Mamie T. Burrell McElrath. She was currently a member of Midway Baptist Church and was a former member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and various other committees. She was the widow of Grady L. Grigg who died in 1999.Surviving are two sons, Dean Grigg of Landrum, SC, and Tony Grigg of Columbus, NC. One sister, Ollie Mae Webb of Spartanburg, SC. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ray Grigg who died 2002.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007 in Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Green Creek, NC with Rev. Gary Lockee and Rev. John Edwards officiating.Burial will be in Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. in Hickory Grove Baptist Church.The family will be at the home, 10 Fox Meadow Lane, Columbus, NC.
