Obituary
Susan Marie "Sue" Tine, 63 years old of Tryon, NC passed away at home on Monday, April 28, 2025 surrounded by family.
Born in Bay Shore, New York, she was the daughter of the late Fred Burger and Joan Kramer Burger. She spent her childhood in Brentwood NY in a loving, wonderful home with her sisters Joanne and Eileen and her late brother Freddie.
Susan met her husband, Salvatore Tine at the age of 15 and quickly fell in love. They shared 47 years of marriage and were blessed with 3 children: Suzanne, Jennifer, and Anthony.
After many busy years of raising their family on Long Island they relocated to Tryon, NC in 1996. They proudly built their home in 1999 and continue to reside there today. She adored her community and became loved and known by many. Susan was always known for her smile, kindness, very easy going demeanor, sense of humor, and love for her family and God. Over the years, she served the local community with a smile at Waffle House in Columbus where she worked for over 20 years. She was an amazing wife, mother (Suzanne, Jennifer and her husband Jacob, Anthony and his wife Araceli), grandmother (Tyler and his wife Savannah, Elijah, Hector, Joseph, Alyssa and her husband Andrew, Alycia, Giovanni, Emily, Angelina, Rocco, and Santino) and great grandmother (River and Remington). She was extremely selfless, caring for and serving everyone around her. She will forever be cherished and greatly missed.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, North Carolina with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Burial will follow the service in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, North Carolina.
