Suzanne "Sue" Shehan Blackwell, 66, of 23 Skylar Dr., Tryon, NC, died, Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at her home. Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Brewster Shehan. She attended Beulah Baptist Church in Mill Spring, NC. Surviving are her husband, Robert Blackwell of the home. Three daughters, Denise Britton (Chuck)of Columbus, NC; Mary Lou Longley (Chris) of Asheville, NC; and Janice Norton of Mill Spring, NC. Two sons, Roger Blackwell of Tryon, NC, and Jimmy Blackwell of Forest City, NC. Two brothers, Allen Shehan (Linda) of Landrum, SC, and William Shehan (Annie) of Chesnee, SC. Also 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2007 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC with Rev. George Whitmire and Rev. Tommy Turner officiating. The family will receive friends at the home, 23 Skylar Dr., Tryon, NC following the service from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Dr., Columbus, NC 28722.
