August 18, 1955 – June 13, 2026
Steven Charles Bouley, 70, of Mill Spring, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in Asheville, North Carolina.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Joseph Albert Bouley and Margaret Proctor Bouley.
Steven proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as administrative opsman during the Vietnam War and earned recognition as a medaled marksman and was also honored a national defense service medal. During his youth, he was a proficient trumpet player and enjoyed performing with his high school band. He was also an active member of the 4-H Club. Steven had a deep love for the outdoors and for his dogs, and he could often be found with one faithfully by his side.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Pamela Sanborn and Katherine Bouley, and his infant son, Steven Bouley.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 35 years, Barbara Bouley; his mother, Margaret Proctor Bouley; his sister, Jenny Bouley; and his three children: Billie-Jean Walker (Spencer) of Mount Gilead, North Carolina; Timothy Holland (Stephanie) of Munfordville, Kentucky; and Jonathan Holland (Mary) of Bow, New Hampshire.
He was also the proud grandfather of Jake Hackenburg, Timothy Holland, Tyler Holland, Kyle Holland, Lauren Linthicum, Illa Walker, Connor Holland, and Logan Holland. In addition, he is survived by his great-grandson, Walker Linthicum.
Steven will be remembered for his service to his country, his appreciation for the outdoors, and the devotion he showed to his family and faithful canine companions.
A private memorial service with military honors will be held for family members.
