Mill Spring, N.C. - Stephen Russell Roberts, 47, of 118 Nelon Road, Mill Spring, NC died September 2, 2006. Born in Buncombe County, NC, he was the son of Frances Hamlin Hurst of Columbus, NC and the late Alfred Roberts. He moved to Polk County in 1980 from Madison County. Mr. Roberts was of the Baptist faith. Survivors beside his mother include: a daughter, Amy Robert Howell of Marshall, NC; a sister, Regina Burgess of Columbus, NC and one niece and one nephew. A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in Coopers Gap Baptist Church Cemetery, Mill Spring, NC with Rev. Dean Elliot officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 7, 2006 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. in Coopers Gap Baptist Church Mill Spring, NC.
