Spartanburg, SC - Stephen Ray Gibbs, 51, of Loche Adele Drive, Spartanburg, SC died Wednesday, December 2, 2009 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC. Born in Chicago, Ill, he was the son of Della B. Gibbs of Spartanburg, SC and the late Raymond Gibbs. Surviving in addition to his mother are: one brother, Glenn Gibbs of Rolling Meadows, IL, aunts, Christine Searcy and Wilma Cersosimo both of Mill Spring, NC. A special friend, Gail Schwabero of Spartanburg, SC and two nephews and one niece. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, December 5, 2009 in Coopers Gap Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Allen and Rev. David Turner officiating. Family to receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday night in the McFarland Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Coopers Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.
