COLUMBUS, NC - Stephanie Day White, 98, of Columbus passed away peacefully at Tryon Estates on Sunday morning, September 11, 2016.Born in Evanston, Illinois, Stephanie was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Thayer Day. She was predeceased by her daughter Anne Siebert and husband Sam White.Stephanie was a resident of Polk County for the last 26 years and was a devoted member of the First Congregational Church. Stephanie enjoyed playing duplicate bridge, volunteering for mental health groups and Hospice and enjoyed many summers at the family cabin on Rainy Lake in northwestern Ontario.Surviving are her daughters, Helen White Hayhurst of MI and Carolyn White Wallis of PA, five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family will hold private services at a later date.Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County 374 Hudlow Rd.
