Silas G. Jackson, 85, of Mill Spring, passed away, Tuesday morning, February 1, 2022 at Upstate Community Hospice House.A native and lifelong resident of Polk County, he was the son of the late Arthur Jackson and Aberdeen Mills Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and was currently serving as a deacon.Surviving is his wife, Helen Ann Walker Jackson; one daughter, Cynthia Reichelderfer (Glenn) of Myrtle Beach; one son, Dennis Jackson (Dora) of Boiling Springs, SC; three stepsons, Butch Helton, Bobby Helton and Paul Helton; one brother, Paul Jackson (Peggy) of Benson, NC; five grandchildren, Jeff Reichelderfer and Brian Reichelderfer, Corey Jackson, Marshall Jackson and Amanda Gosnell. Also surviving are eleven great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church, Mill Spring.A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Ronnie Hodge and Reverend Charlie Jackson officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
