Columbus, NC - Sidney Harold Covington, 87, husband of Margaret Hannah Covington of Tryon Estates, previously of Charlotte, NC passed away Sept. 11th, 2023.

A native of Rock Hill SC, son of the late Clyde and Dorothy Covington. He was a retired real estate appraiser for Mecklenburg County, and a member of Tryon Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Covington (Sandi) of Indian Trail, a daughter Cheryl Maxwell (Morgan) of Winston Salem, and a daughter Carla Langley (Aaron) of Tryon; four grandchildren Sydney Langey, Jacob Maxwell, Emory Maxwell, and Thomas "Porter" Langley, sister Mamie Jackson of Rock Hill, sister-in-law Cindy Hannah of Greer. He was predeceased by a brother Joe Covington and sister Evelyn Griggs of Rock Hill, SC.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 16th at Tryon Estates Chapel conducted by Dr. Allen Purtill of Tryon Presbyterian and Rev. Kevin Lynch from Tryon Estates. He will be interred in the columbarium at Tryon Estates.
