Columbus, NC - Sibyl Tallant Lowe, 92, of Columbus, NC passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 in LaurelWoods assisted living facility, Columbus, NC.Born in Polk Co. NC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nell Constance Tallant and was the widow of Horace "Pete" Lowe who died in 1984. Sibyl was a member of Columbus Baptist Church. Private services will be held at a later date.Survivors include her daughter, Emily Thompson (Earl) of Tryon, NC; a daughter-in-law, Trel Lowe of Saluda, NC; as well as three grandchildren, Kelly Gromelski of Horse Shoe, NC, Thomas Lowe of Atlanta, GA and Travis Lowe of Lenoir, NC and four great-grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Dennis Lowe; stepmother, Vadah McMurray Tallant; sister, Helen Levi; and an infant brother, Joseph Gerald Tallant.
