Saluda, NC - Shirley Lou Holt, 67, died Thursday, August 24, 2006 in Autumn Care Nursing Center, Saluda, NC. Born in Wichita, KS, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Lula Marie Jones McBride. She was the widow of Rev. Lester S. Holt. Shirley was a member of New Testament Christian Fellowship Church in Landrum, SC. Surviving are: two daughters, Shirley Marie Barton of Greenville, SC and Debbie Ann Holt of Georgia; four sons, Lester Wayne Holt of Landrum, SC; Clarence Steven Holt of Georgia; Larry Holt of Georgia and Francis Paul Holt of Tapphannock,VA; three brothers, Charles "Corky" McBride of Olathe, KS; Mike McBride of Taylorsville, GA and Gene McBride of Snellville, GA; two sisters, Wilma Smith of Carrollton, GA and Wanda Greene of Rutherfordton, NC. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2006 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Pastor Scott Mills officiating. Burial in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Landrum, SC. Family to receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday just prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722. The family will be at the home of Wanda Greene, 589 McEntire Rd., Rutherfordton, NC.
