Shirley Mixon Freeman, 62, of Hendersonville, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday April 28, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Jerry “Cotton” Mixon and Rachel Pearson Mixon. Shiley was a loving daughter, mother and great friend to many. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Stepp.

Surviving are two children; Joseph Freeman and Sara Freeman both of Hendersonville; two brothers, Toney Stepp and Randy Mixon; and many aunts and uncles.
