Landrum, SC - Shirley June Harris Atkins, 67, of Landrum, SC passed away Saturday September 29, 2012 at her home.Born in Polk County, NC she was the daughter of the late Siney Elizabeth and Mose Harris.Mrs. Atkins is survived in death by her husband of 49 years, Farrell Atkins of the home; two daughters, Janet Gosnell (Ray Sherbert) and Teresa Dameron (Roy) both of Landrum, SC; and one son, Farrell D. Atkins, also of Landrum. Also surviving are three sisters: Hattie Dodd of Haleyville, AL, Betty Center and Ethel Atkins both of Landrum, SC; two brothers: Tommy Harris (Wanda) of Landrum, SC and David Harris of Columbus, NC; along with four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Dameron and a great-grandson, Preston Hutchins.Memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Dameron and Rev. Brannon Poore officiating.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm just prior to the service Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.Flowers may be sent to the McFarland Funeral Chapel at 54 McFarland Dr. Tryon, NC 28782 or to the family at 115 Stringer Rd.
