Columbus, NC -- Shelba Jean Arledge Graham, 66, of Smith Dairy Rd., Columbus, NC, died Saturday, May 12, 2007 in Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Gertrude Sain Arledge. She was the widow of Edward "Ed" Graham who died in 1998. Mrs. Graham was retired from the U.S. Army having served as a Sergeant 1st Class for 33 years. A member of American Legion Post #250 in Tryon, NC, she was a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church.Surviving is one daughter, Shelba Marie Williams of Columbus, NC; one son, Bobby Arledge of Columbus, NC; two special adopted daughters, Rebecca Earley of Landrum, SC and Sally Halford of Mill Spring, NC. Also three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin Wayne Arledge and Bobby Earl Arledge.Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, May 14, 2007 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Dr. Chris Osborn and Rev. Mike Conner officiating.The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm prior to the service on Monday.Family will be at the home of a son Bobby Arledge, 1568 Smith Dairy Rd., Columbus, NC.Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation, Mountain Region, 31 College Place, Suite D320, Asheville, NC 28801.
