Sheila M. Brabin Bessell, 95, of Tryon died, Saturday evening, March 2, 2019 at the Smith Phayer Hospice House.Born January 1, 1924 in Wallasey, Cheshire, England (Nr. Liverpool). She was a graduate of Holt Hill, Birkinhead, a member of the Carleton Players and a Librarian in Liverpool. Mrs. Bessell married Lt. Comm. W.S. Bessell, USMS, June 22, 1946.Surviving WWII in the Liverpool area, her family had to move five times due to the heavy bombing by the Luftwaffa. This did not warp her love for humanity. She will be missed. She derived great pleasure in showering her family and friends with love and laughter.Surviving is her husband; three children, Kim Attwooll of Tryon, Michael Bessell of Mount Holly, NC and Matthew Bessell of Centerpoint, NY; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2019 in St. John's Catholic Church, Tryon with Father Jason Christian officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O.
