TRYON --
Ruth Pace Foy, 96, of Tryon, passed away, Thursday evening, September 25, 2025, at White Oak Manor of Tryon.
A native and lifelong resident of Tryon, she was the daughter of the late Greenberry Lotan Pace and Dora Malona Waters Pace. Ruth worked in several different careers throughout her life, worked at Caro-Mi,
Missildines
, Polk County Home Extension Agency, where she was called the "Recipe Lady", private caregiver, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Girl Scout Leader. Ruth was an active member of the Polk County Republican Party and the Tryon Congregational Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Earl Foy who passed away in 2010 and she was the last living survivor of family.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet Sauve` (Floyd) of Tryon and Jane Arnold (Charles) of Tampa, Florida; three grandchildren, J.J. Sauve` (Nikki) of Tryon, Caroline Edwards (Jared) of Mill Spring and Alison Arnold Oberle of Tryon; two great grandchildren, Johnny Sauve` and Josephine Sauve`. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.
Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus.
