Saluda, NC—Ruth Thompson Foster, 93, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Autumn Care in Saluda, NC.Ruth was born in Saluda, NC to the late William Otto and Mamie McMurray Thompson.  She was a member of Pacolet Baptist Church for almost 70 years.Ruth was predeceased by her first husband, Glen McInnis who passed away while serving in World War II.  She later married Norman Foster who passed away in 2006.  She was also predeceased by three brothers, Waitsell, Claude, and Randolph Thompson; a sister, Ollie Luther; a daughter, Glenda McInnis Smith; a granddaughter, Sandy Reid; a grandson, Bobby Shehan; and a great granddaughter Chelsea Storey.Surviving is a daughter, Darlene Foster Shehan of Landrum, SC; son, Chris Foster of Spartanburg, SC; granddaughters, Paula Shehan, Penny Cochran, and Bonnie Smith; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020 at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC with Reverend Chad Bowen and Mr. Phil Scoggins officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.Burial will be at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, NC.Memorials may be Made to Pacolet Baptist Church, PO Box 243, Lynn, NC 28750 or to a charity of your choice.
