TRYON, NC -- Roy C. Jackson, 83, of Peniel Road, Tryon, NC went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 11, 2009 in Smith Phayer Hospice House in Landrum. Born in Polk County, he was the son of the late Columbus and Ollie Halford Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a Veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.Surviving are his wife, Clois Champion Jackson; two sons, David Roy Jackson (Inez) and Bruce Jackson, both of Peniel Road Tryon; two daughters, Patricia Paris (Gene) of Hendersonville and Gloria Fisher (Charlie) of Mill Spring; six grandchildren, Kevin Fisher (Andrea), Chad Fisher (Jennifer), Heather Jackson Guffey (Brian), Sonya Jackson Ballard (Travis), Gretchen Jackson (Kevin), and Amy Jackson; eight great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in Beulah Baptist Church, Tryon, NC.Burial will be in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Dr., Columbus, N.C. 28722. The family will be at the home, 5800 Peniel Road, Tryon, NC.
