Columbus, NC - Roberta Mae Kellerman, 86, of Columbus, NC passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC.Born December 24, 1927 in Hammond, IN she was the daughter of Frank and Gladys Burgess. She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Kellerman who died in 2005. A special education teacher during her working life, she retired after 35 years in the classroom. She was a member of the Tryon Presbyterian Church and enjoyed sewing, knitting and weaving.Roberta is survived by five children, Eric Strand of the home; Keith Kellerman (Patsy) of Summerville, SC; Donna Strand of Chicago, IL; Tom Kellerman (Rachel) of Palo Alto, CA; and Roger Kellerman of Rockford, IL. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Lisa and Ben Kellerman.Private services will be held at a later date.The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for their wonderful care and compassion.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Dr. Columbus, NC 28722.
