Landrum, SC - Robert Harvey Waters, 74, of Dug Hill Road,died Thursday, November 23, 2006 at his home. Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late Zennithan V. and Melinda Pace Waters. A veteran of the U.S. Army he served in the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Landrum Mills for thirty-eight years prior to retirement. Surviving are three sons; Larry, Robert, and Randall Waters, all of Shelby, NC; one daughter, Delinda Anderson of Shelby, NC; his companion, Dorothy Turner of the home; her sons, Bobby, Roger, and Scotty Turner all of Landrum, SC, one sister, Margaret Argyropoulos of Maryland, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, nephew, Doug Staton & Vicki Meredith both of Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, November 27, 2006 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, NC with military rites by the Polk County Memorial Burial Squad. Family to receive friends from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm Sunday afternoon in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC.
