LYNN, NC - Robert "Dud" Hanford Tucker, 79, of Lynn, N.C. passed from this world Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC.Born November 1, 1932 in Tryon, NC, he was the son of the late Thaddeus Gerome and Frances Foster Tucker and husband of the late Helen Lawter Tucker. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Crystal Tucker and Adam Hill; two sisters, Genelle Tucker and Nettie Foster; three brothers, Ralph, Roy and Ernest Tucker.Surviving is one daughter, Sandra Copeland of Tryon, NC; two sons, Chris Tucker of Tryon, NC and Robbie Tucker of Claremore, OK; one step-son, Ronnie Russell of Columbus, NC; one grandson, Josh Tucker of Pickens, SC; his beloved dog, Sassy; three brothers, Kenneth Tucker of Landrum, SC, John Tucker of Glade Valley, NC and Curt Tucker of Claremore, OK; four sisters, Marlean Click of Charlotte, NC, Linda Tucker, Emma Jean James both of Fayetteville, NC and Irene Wolfe of Landrum, SC.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC with Rev. Fred Siegfried officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Friday in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills and Smith Phayer Hospice House for their wonderful care of our loved one.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722.At other times, the family will be at the home of his daughter, Sandra Copeland, 81 Day Lily Lane, Tryon, NC.
