Robert Henry LaPour, age 87, of Tryon, North Carolina, passed away on September 9, 2025, due to complications from a fall.
Bob was born on January 2, 1938, in Racine, Wisconsin, to Milton Frances and Alice Augusta (Blaine) LaPour. He was a brother to sisters Phyllis, Judy and Sue. As a boy, he loved visiting the zoo, fishing and playing along the shores near their Lake Michigan home. Growing up, Bob was a work horse for his father and uncles' business of flipping homes. He was very handy and could fix anything.
Bob graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1960 with a degree in Economics. While in college, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Jane Partington, from Racine and started a family.
After college, Bob joined his father in mortgage lending and real estate business. In 1973, Bob opened his own firm, Robert H. LaPour Real Estate Investments. Bob added developing apartments for seniors and individuals with disabilities to his reale estate practice.
Bob and Jane made their home in Racine until the early 1980's, raising their five children, Lynn, Bobby, Gwen, Joan and David before moving to Tryon, North Carolina.
Bob was known for his kind heartedness, ability to fix anything, remembering special occasions, birthdays and anniversaries. He enjoyed planning projects for when his kids visited 'Old Oak Farm' in Tryon. He cherished a competitive game of cribbage, and found joy in riding his horse, Woody, and tractor.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jane (Partington - Racine, WI) LaPour of Tryon, Daughters Lynn LaPour (Massachusetts), Gwen LaPour, Grandsons Jason and Tyler, Granddaughters Kirah Heiden and Husband David, Great-Granddaughters Chloe, Chelsea, Olivia (Wisconsin); Christie Firari and Husband Jordan (Wisconsin); Bobby (Robert) LaPour; Joan LaPour (North Carolina) and son David LaPour, Wife Gretchen, Granddaughter Anna, Grandson Zachary (South Carolina). He was preceded in death by his son Bobby (Robert) LaPour, and sisters Phyllis, Judy, and Sue.
A private service was held at the family farm in North Carolina. He is in heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
