TRYON, NC - Robert Dixon Dalton, 77, of Tryon, NC died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 in Jackson Madison General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son the late Robert Jackson and Clestelle Moore Dalton and was the husband of the late Dorothy Dalton who died in February of 2008. Mr. Dalton retired from the U.S. Navy in 1969 after 21 years of service. After retirement, he later taught electronics in Florida. Mr. Dalton was an AA member for 37 years. Surviving are 5 daughters, Cynthia Paulauskas and Patricia Szuhay both of Orlando, FL, Candace Van Driessche of Jackson, TN, Susan Elliott of Orlando, FL and Sarah Marvolo of Roanoke, VA; one brother, Joseph Dalton of Houston, TX. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2008 in Grey's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Rutherfordton, NC with Rev. Kenneth Molter officiating.
