It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Carlisle Rhodes, age 73, of Thomaston, Georgia, who passed away on September 4, 2025. Richard was born on May 26, 1952, in San Diego, California, to Jeanne Maquette Rhodes and C. L. Rhodes. He was raised in Tryon, North Carolina, where he grew up surrounded by family and community.
Richard dedicated much of his life to a career in law enforcement, a profession that reflected his strong sense of duty and commitment to serving others. His service left a lasting mark on the community he cared for so deeply.
Above all, Richard was a devoted husband to his wife, Kristy Lynn Rhodes, and a beloved brother to Vance Rhodes. His bond with his niece, Amanda Caswell, and her family (Scott, Dean, and Dylan) brought him immeasurable joy and pride.
Known for his kindness, warmth, and generosity, Richard will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and service.
