Tryon, NC- Richard "Rick" Lee Nekich, 52, of Viewmont Heights, Tryon, NC passed away June 1, 2009 in his home. Born in Milwaukee, WI he was the son of Eleanor Galkowski and the late Richard Nekich. Mr. Nekich was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a surgical technician and musician before moving to Polk County in 2006, coming from Kenosha, WI. Mr. Nekich also enjoyed traveling. Surviving in addition to his mother; one sister, Pamela Patterson and husband Ron of Green Creek, NC. Also surviving are four nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Pamela Patterson officiating.
